Students at Tappan Hill School "Lend a Helping Hand"
Tappan Hill students learned the value of lending a hand around their school during the month of January, a reflection on the teachings of Martin Luther King Jr.
Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!
This year at the Valhalla Center we currently have 5 classes for students in our middle and high school programs. This includes two AIIM classes (Applied Intensive Intervention Model), one TSP-DD class (Therapeutic Support Program) and two CAD classes (Communication and Academic Development).
The Valhalla Center is fortunate to have many returning staff comprised of teachers, assistant teachers, aides and related service providers. We have also added some additional staff including two teachers, a speech therapist, one new aide and two teaching assistants that bring their expertise to the existing staff.
Our goal remains focused on developing the academic, social and vocational skills of each student to their full potential. We are using new technology such as classroom Touch Boards, chrome books, laptops to assist students in their learning. We continue to work to develop the independence of all of our students in order to prepare them for life after graduation. We are fortunate to be on the Career and Technical Education Campus and take full advantage of the many opportunities for the students to learn and practice their independent skills.
We at the Valhalla Center are looking forward to an exciting and rewarding school year. We are committed to working with you, your family and your districts to ensure that our students can reach their full potential and grow toward being successful graduates.
