Poco students recite the Pledge for school board meeting
Pocantico Hills students recite the Pledge
SWBOCES students in the Center for Special Services program at Pocantico Hills School recited the Pledge of Allegiance for a presentation to precede the May 12 Board of Education meeting.
The ongoing tour of Special Services programs across SWBOCES features students reciting the Pledge, usually on camera, and played back at the opening of each virtual board meeting. The purpose is to connect students to the wider BOCES community through a civics project that features both the students themselves and the individual programs that are offered.
The nine Pocantico Hills students are sixth graders who will be moving up at the end of the school year to new programs and locations. They are: Madison Elle Johnson, Joshua Munoz, Jadiel Rivera, Rhys Shoshan, Fitz Anderson, Jaxson Simpson, Andrew Lopez, Romeo Robledo, and Alex Mattos.
“This is an excellent way to involve our students positively and to connect the community after the unique and challenging year we’ve all experienced,” Pocantico Hills Teacher Nathalie Del Vecchio-Molina said. “They were so excited to participate and proud to appear, even virtually, before our Board of Education.”
