From bold lighting to imaginative metallic materials and inventive styling, each piece reflected the originality and technical skill developed within the Fashion Design & Merchandising program.

“I was so happy with the way everything turned out,” said instructor Carmen Galiano. “This felt like the right moment for the theme of future fashion.”

The show was a true campus-wide collaboration. Students and instructors from multiple programs played key roles in bringing the production to life—from cosmetology students creating striking hair and makeup looks, to audio and video production teams managing lighting, music, and filming. Audio Production instructor Sean Harty even served as the stage manager, executing Ms. Galiano’s plan by coordinating with models and designers backstage.

Advertising & Graphic Design students contributed visual elements that were present on the runway, and produced promotional materials beforehand.

“This show is a perfect example of what our students can accomplish together,” Ms. Galiano said.

Several Career Services programs combined to assist the Future Fashion Show on May 21, 2026.Guiding the student models once again was school social worker Eileen Yip, a former model whose mentorship has become a cornerstone of the show. This year’s event may mark her final time in that role—she’ll retire at the end of the school year—adding a meaningful note to the day as students took the stage with confidence and professionalism.

“I love to work with the students,” said Ms. Yip, who kicked off the show and wrapped it up by sharing kind words about the experience and her partnership with Ms. Galiano. “I will be here in the future if Carmen needs me.”

With well-attended performances in the morning and afternoon, the Future Fashion Show highlighted not only the creativity of student designers, but also the power of collaboration and hands-on learning across the Career Services campus. Both shows closed with a special moment when the designers and the students modeling their new looks walked the runway together.
