Student partnership at Rye Lake builds community

Students from the Rye Lake Middle school Therapeutic Support Program have partnered with the Rye Lake Lower Campus Multiple Disabilities program to work with the students for a variety of experiences, building the campus community significantly.

Middle school students have done an amazing job at enriching the lives of these students and gaining experiences of their own in the process. Some of the collaboration has been assisting in the classroom, reading to the students, escorting students during arrival and dismissal and assisting with gym and music classes.

Working with students who have multiple disabilities has been an incredibly positive experience for these middle schoolers. Through patience, compassion, and teamwork, they have shown tremendous growth in their ability to support and connect with others. They have demonstrated responsibility, empathy, and maturity while assisting students with daily activities and learning tasks.
