Rye Lake Middle School celebrated a Moving Up Ceremony on June 22, 2026, for its eighth-grade students, who'll join the high school graduating Class of 2030 in the fall.
Denum Abreu, Ayanna Barber, Jahmel Grant, Iris Pons Ogando, Evelie Rivera, Anthony Robinson, and Xavier Tucker all donned caps and gowns for the commencement event, turning their tassels at the end to signify the accomplishment of this significant educational milestone.
Interim Principal Alberta Grant-Johnson, Teacher Tiziana DeMasi, and School Social Worker Nicolette Carriero all spoke, offering reflections on the school year past and especially on the eight unique individuals whose contributions and achievements were honored on this day.
"We salute all your hard work, perseverance and your resilience that you've demonstrated throughout the school year," Ms. Grant-Johnson said. "We look forward to tremendous success for you in high school as you continue your journeys. Please know you will be remembered for the difference you made while you were here."
