A class like no other: Tappan Hill salutes its last graduates

Tappan Hill School honors nine students moving up and six who are graduating

"There has never been a class quite like this one," Principal Francesca Fernandez said. "Your class has been unapologetically yourself."

One by one, students were called up to rousing cheers and applause as they were presented certificates, posed for photos and embraced by loved ones. Your uniquness is your strenght and your story matters, Ms. Fernandez told them.

"Be proud of who you are and embrace the parts that others may not understand yet," she added.

The ceremony featured a slideshow presentation of many happy moments at the Tarrytown campus. Music Director Donald Stevens brought students up for a song. And of course there were cake and refreshments for the attendees, who included SWBOCES administrators and former Tappan Hill staff, including Principal Phyllis Rizzi and Teacher Erroll Rivera.
